For the past three weeks, I've been in Singapore. Work sent me here on short notice, but this is my fourth trip to Singapore and I like it here so it's not that bad. The hardest part is being away from friends and family, and also all my costuming stuff! Some of my hobbies, like writing and running Zelda Universe www.zeldauniverse.net are easily transportable, but not cosplay. I was working on a lot of things right up until I left, so I feel almost frustrated being away from everything! That said, I've ordered a few bits and pieces to improve my Tomb Raider 2013 costume and I am also in the early stages of planning a new costume so I can do a lot of research for now.

Jenn and I have set up a shop to sell the Tomb Raider Ice Axes we've been making. We are also selling pendants for the costume, and have a few more products in development. Finally, I have just changed my screen-name from Lysia to Shona. So if you're wondering who "Shona" is - it's me!

I've been playing around with a new skill: molding and casting. It's something I've been interested in for years, so last month I finally took a workshop to learn how to make silicone molds and cast items out of resin. I have so many ideas for things that I want to make now! The first project I've embarked on is making replicas of the ice axe from the new Tomb Raider game. Last weekend I did my first Lara Croft photo shoot in over a year. I was lucky enough to arrive home in Australia with 10 days left to enter the Lara Croft Cosplay.com contest, and despite my computer breaking down (and thanks to my awesome friend Jenn for saving me!) I'm also back in Australia. My time in Sweden was awesome, and I've just been on holiday to the US, where I was at Dragon*Con among other things. I had a ton of fun, but it's also nice to be home for a while. Now it's time to get ready for some Aussie conventions, although I won't have time to make any new costumes for it.

I decided to spend the Easter break in Spain and visited Madrid for the first time. I absolutely loved the city. It's beautiful and lively and comes to life even more at night. I really want to go back there, and to explore more of Spain.
